UV Curing Adhesives for Glass-to-Metal and Plastic Bonding: Application Case Series

September 12, 2026
Latest company case about UV Curing Adhesives for Glass-to-Metal and Plastic Bonding: Application Case Series

UV curing adhesives have become a preferred bonding solution across electronics, security and packaging manufacturing, where fast curing, precise application and reliable performance on mixed substrates are essential. In this application case series, we examine how Super-curing UV curing adhesives are used to bond glass to metal and to join a wide range of plastics and glass in real production environments.

Applications at a Glance

Model Substrates Key Benefit Typical Application
3022 Glass to aluminum and stainless steel, inks and plating layers Flexible vibration resistance and low shrinkage Electronic scale glass and metal assembly
3027 Glass to aluminum alloy lens covers Fast cure and waterproof strength Security camera lens cover bonding
3321 PET, APET, PE, TPU, TAC and some PP Low viscosity and anti-yellowing clarity Optical films and packaging boxes
3325 PMMA, PC, PVC, ABS, PS, AS and PET Low cost general purpose bonding Medium to large area plastic, glass and metal assembly
3327 PET, APET and PETG Ultra fast 1 second positioning PET packaging, window lenses and APET folding boxes
3323 PMMA, PC, PVC, ABS, PS, AS and PET Tough formula with high bond strength Adhesive hooks and plastic crafts
3326 Glass and various plastics Medium viscosity with high strength Plastic-to-glass and mixed-substrate bonding

Application Cases in Practice

In glass-to-metal bonding, two grades address very different demands. The 3022 glass-to-metal UV adhesive is used where flexibility and long-term stability matter most, such as the glass and metal assembly of electronic scales. Its flexible formulation provides excellent vibration resistance, its low shrinkage keeps deformation to a minimum, and it resists high temperature and humidity while remaining free of whitening and bubbling after long-term curing. It bonds glass to aluminum and stainless steel sheets and also adheres to inks and plating layers, which is critical when the bonded surface is printed or coated.

For security camera lens covers, the 3027 grade takes glass-to-metal bonding a step further with a medium-high viscosity of 5,500 mPa.s that keeps the adhesive exactly where it is dispensed. It cures quickly at 600 mJ/cm2 with excellent surface dry performance, delivers strong waterproof performance, and reaches a Shore D 75 hardness with a 29 MPa tensile strength, making it well suited to outdoor devices that must survive rain, dust and temperature swings.

On the plastic side, the challenge shifts to bonding materials that are notoriously difficult to join. The 3321 acrylic-to-PET adhesive uses a low-viscosity, fast-curing formula that stays transparent and resists yellowing, allowing it to bond PET, APET, PE, TPU, TAC and even some PP for optical films and packaging boxes. Where cost efficiency is the priority, the 3325 general purpose plastic adhesive provides low viscosity and good leveling at a lower cost, with adhesion to plastics, inks and plating layers for medium to large area bonding of PMMA, PC, PVC, ABS, PS, AS and PET. For PET packaging lines that demand speed, the 3327 PET adhesive positions in as little as one second and delivers very strong adhesion to PET, APET and PETG, ideal for window lenses and APET folding boxes.

Two more grades round out the range. The 3323 plastic hook adhesive combines a tough formula with a medium-low viscosity to give adhesive hooks and plastic crafts a high-strength, durable bond on PMMA, PC, PVC, ABS, PS, AS and PET. The 3326 plastic-to-glass adhesive uses a medium viscosity and fast cure to join plastic with plastic, glass and metal, and is especially effective for plastic-to-glass bonding where a strong, clean interface is required.

Process Benefits

  • Fast curing that supports high-throughput, automated assembly lines
  • Low shrinkage and minimal deformation for precision parts
  • Excellent vibration and humidity resistance for demanding environments
  • Long-term non-whitening and non-yellowing clarity
  • Reliable adhesion on difficult substrates such as PET, PP and coated surfaces
  • Cure on demand for controllable, repeatable bonding

Conclusion

From glass-to-metal assemblies in measuring instruments and security cameras to plastic and glass bonding in optical films, packaging and consumer products, UV curing adhesives deliver the speed, clarity and durability that modern manufacturing requires. With grades tuned for flexibility, cost, cure speed and substrate compatibility, Super-curing provides a practical adhesive solution for each bonding challenge.
