New solution for environmental disinfection
Short-wave UV-C radiation (200 to 280 nanometers) is the component of UV radiation with the highest energy. UV light with a wavelength below 280 nanometers destroys the chemical bonds in the RNA or DNA helices of microorganisms. This tears apart the genetic information. As a result, the virus or bacteria is no longer infectious, i.e. cannot reproduce.
Since 265nm ultraviolet rays have the strongest destructive power on the DNA and RNA molecular structures in biological cells, they theoretically have the best sterilization effect.
For the disinfection market, UV-C LED is a highly promising solution that has been developing rapidly in the past two years and has achieved on-demand purification in daily applications. Compared with traditional light source technology, it has many advantages, such as adaptability, compactness, and instant start function.
According to TrendForce analysis, the UV-C LED application market in 2022 includes home appliances, public space and manufacturing applications, dynamic water sterilization, automotive air sterilization, medical, life science and agricultural applications, etc.
