The treaty clearly stipulates that all countries will ban the production and import and export of various products containing "mercury" from 2020.

  Since energy-saving light bulbs contain mercury, and the price difference between LED light bulbs and energy-saving light bulbs is not much, it is expected that LED lighting will replace them in large quantities starting next year, and the demand for LED lamps can make up for the newly added production capacity. Zhang Shixian, head of Jingyuan Optoelectronics, said that after the Minamata Convention comes into effect, more countries will join and sign it in the future, and the number will increase to 146 countries. It is estimated that LED lighting will double in growth.
