- Drying Bottleneck: Using traditional solvent-based inks, printing required drying in a 20-meter-long drying tunnel or several hours of natural air drying, severely slowing down delivery speeds.
- Poor Adhesion: The smooth surface of the fountain pen's metal cap made the ink easily peel off, failing the alcohol swab test.
- Product Deformation: The thin walls of the fine-tube ballpoint pen caused slight bending of the pen barrel due to the high temperature of traditional infrared drying, preventing the cap from sealing tightly.
Solution
To meet the client's needs, we customized and integrated a high-performance UV LED curing system into their 8-color rotary pad printing machine.
- Precise Wavelength Configuration: Utilizing a 365nm wavelength, it provides rapid curing for specialized UV inks on metal and plastic substrates, ensuring surface dryness and hardness.
- Cold Light Source Technology: The UV LEDs generate only photochemical reactions, not thermal radiation, keeping the pen barrel surface temperature below 40°C, completely eliminating the risk of deformation.
- Compact Integration: The lamp head is directly mounted at the rotary station after the pad printing head, achieving "print one station, dry one station."
